On the day after his 15th birthday, James Rehsif decides to get his first pokemon. In the morning, after he has his breakfast, James gets his trainers on and runs round to Professor Oak's lab. Oak greets him at the door: Good morning, James. Ready to get your first Pokemon?
James: Yes, I'm ready.
Prof. Oak: Decided who your partner will be?
James: Yes.
Professor Oak leads James into his lab and takes him to a table with 3 pokeballs on it.
Prof. Oak: Going clockwise starting from the pokeball opposite you, the balls contain Charmander, Bulbasaur and Squirtle. Please choose your pokemon now.
James: Okay. *picks up the pokeball on his right* I choose Bulbasaur.
The pokeball opens releasing a flash of light. Then...
Bulbasaur: Bulbasaur!
Prof. Oak: Good choice. Bulbasaur are usually very loyal pokemon. They can sometimes be stubborn, though. Now then, here are some empty pokeballs, your Pokedex and a few potions. *Prof. Oak gives them all to James* Now; I'm expecting another new trainer, a boy from Saffron City whose just a year younger than you.
James: Well, I think I'll wait for him; then I'll have someone else to start my journey with. By the way, Bulbasaur; do you want to go back in your pokeball for travelling, or do you want to walk with me and only go in your pokeball when we are in a Pokemon Centre?
Bulbasaur: Saur Bulba Bulbasaur, Bulba.
James: Uh...
Prof. Oak: Open your Pokedex and press the top middle button.
James does this.
Pokedex: Translation activated: I would like to walk with you.
James: Okay, Bulbasaur.

At that moment ryan came through the doors of Oaks lab. Ryan is a strapping lad with long blonde hair which is covered by his red and white baseball cap.
Ryan: Hey, prof!!
prof.oak: hey Ryan, how you doing?
ryan: im ok
at that moment he noticed a boy not to disimilar to himselve
Ryan: is that the person who im going to partnet, prof?
prof.oak: yes, this is andrew.
after briefly aquinting themselves....
Prof.oak: ryan, would you not like to choose a pokemon yet?
ryan: oh, in all this excitement i completley forgot!!
ryan walked over to the two remaining pokemon
ryan: charmander... i choose you!!
at that moment charmander jumped out of the pokeball
ryan stood in amazement
prof. oak: i think you two should have a battle.....

Bulbasaur: Saur!
James: Uh... *gets pokedex out: Ready!* Okay! You and Charmander ready, Ryan?

Bulbasaur's Growl attack reduces Charmander's attack power.

James: Bulbasaur; tackle him again!
Bulbasaur: Bulba! Saur!

OOC: Let's say that when Charmander attacks back, he collides with Bulbasaur and they knock each other out, ending the battle. They are only knocked out till the post after it, though.

Ryan: Looks like are pokemon are pretty even...but i will train mine up to be the best in the world!!! no one will stand in my way!!!

James: (chuckles) I think Bulbasaur agrees with that idea. Right; Bulbasaur?

Bulbasaur: Bulba saur.
James: (chuckles) So which way shall we go? North to Viridian City or South to Cinnabar Island? Actually, I think like to go to Viridian Forest. I've heard there are Pikachu there.
Prof. Oak: There are.
So James, Bulbasaur and Ryan make their way to Viridian Forest. When they get there, James searches the grass for almost half an hour. Eventually, he finds a Pikachu.
Pikachu: Pika? Pikachu!
James: Bulbasaur! Tackle!
Bulbasaur: Bulba!
Pikachu dodges the attack and uses a Thundershock on Bulbasaur, but it misses.
James: Don't give up Bulbasaur. Use Growl.
Bulbasaur growls at Pikachu, but it has no effect.
James: Try again.
This time, Bulbasaur's growl works.
James: Now try your Tackle again!
Bulbasaur: Saur!
Pikachu is hit, but gets back up and attacks Bulbasaur with Thundershock. Bulbasaur is hit, but stays standing.
James: Again!
Bulbasaur hits Pikachu with another tackle. Pikachu manages to get back up and uses Thundershock. It hits again and Bulbasaur falls, but gets back up.
James: One more time, Bulbasaur. Tackle!
Bulbasaur: BULBASAUR!
Pikachu falls.
James: Pokeball go!
The pokeball wobbles a bit. The button flashes red and the pokeball stops wobbling. James picks it up.
James (doing Ash Ketchum's pose): I caught Pikachu!
OOC: "So James, Bulbasaur and Ryan...Viridian Forest" was just to get this going again.
